Praise the Lord! We're doing a community wide outreach Sat. the 26th at 10:30am. Our goal is simple: go door to door in the community and share with folks our love for them by asking for prayer requests and praying for them right then and there. And if the Lord opens an opportunity we'll be sharing the gospel with them.
By the way...if there was ever confirmation that God was in this it was today. I was just thinking to the Lord today, "I wish I had more NT Bibles and Romans Road cards." A few hours later I get an e-mail from a lady who is donating NT & Romans Roads cards for our outreach. Wow...God is good!
Continue to pray as God leads us in this comeback for Him!
UPDATE: The outreach went very well. We met new families, were able to invite many & we were able to pray with people in the community. This is all in an attempt to show God glorified and a church that truly cares about its community. We praise the Lord for this opportunity to "comeback" for Him.

I think that it is great, to see a church who is willing to go out and reach out in to the community!
I have heard about this type of evangilisim when I lived down in Dickson Tn. I have heard that many great things can come as a result of going into the community and seeking to pray with those who are hurting.
One of the sad things about evangilisim in this day and age is that many times we put the cart before the horse. We want to just care for the individual, with out ever trying to witness to them. Where I am preaching at now, the members have told me that they tried to witness. They had a winner roast and something like 75 people showed up...but they never past out tracks, never tried to go and do follow up on the people that were there. They tried to show they cared, but never told them about Christ.
Just a thought...I once listened to a 2 hour sermon on evangilisim by the late Jack Hyles (I don't recomend every thing from him...but he does have some good stuff just gota take the meat from the bones) He was preaching at Bob Jones University...and he said this "When I wittness I try to make sure the gospel gets to that person by what ever means posible...I try to first show it to the person in the bible, if he dose not want to read it, Ill quote it, if he dose not want me to quote it,if the person is totaly resestant, then as a last resort I will ask the person to pray, and will thank the Lord for his Son and go through the Romans Road"
I had never thought about praying the Romans road before until then...but it is a neat way to try to plant a seed.
Oh have you read "Comback churches"...I can't remember the author...any ways it is a great book!
The Comeback church is an amazing book...I would recommend it to anyone pastoring an established church. Be careful with Jack Hyles however...at times he's a better example of "what not to do."
LOL...Yeah old Jack Hyles is not the best of examples...however when it comes to evangilisim...he has some great points! But then agian you kinda have to pick the meat from the bones.
I picked up the comeback church when it first came out and loved it.
